Ahh, Politics

I love The Daily Show. I think Jon Stewert is one of the most intelligent people in the media business today.

Tuesday night's show contained a fantastic bit on the confirmation hearings of John Roberts, including a fantastic clip where, during his 10 minutes of questioning / rambling / preaching, Sen. Tom Coburn breaks down:

"...my heart aches for less divisiveness...::sniffle::...less polarization...::sniffle::...less finger-pointing...::sniffle::...less bitterness...less partisanship"

Then Stewert took a moment to remind us of some of Coburn's other, more tender statements:

About the gay community : "...is the greatest threat to our freedom that we face today."

About abortion : "I favor the death penalty for abortionists."

Stewert also pointed out that Coburn was caught in a shot on C-SPAN doing a crossword puzzle during someone else's questions.

Jon Stewert, you are my hero.
