Dem' Chemical Blues

My mother started her second round of chemo yesterday. Unlike the first round, where she was wore a pump that dripped the chemo continuously for 4 weeks, this time she goes in to the hospital for 3-4 hours every other Monday. They start her with 30 minutes of anti-nausea drugs, then two rounds of two different drugs, then they hook up the pump and she has a slow drip for two days.

So far, she didn't have any major negative reactions, which is a good sign. Of course, each treatment will be a little more intense because of the residue from the last, but at least she didn't break out in hives like some people do. I think it's all going to go very well.

The point of this round of chemo is to flush out any cancer cells that may have moved around the body. They haven't found anything, but they want to make sure...
